As a Service Provider you have the right to define your own rates, its your business after all and you should be working to grow it.
We encourage our providers to never accept a Work Order that is unfair. For example if you are charging an hourly rate of $20. Then make sure to calculate drive time, expenses and platform fees in order to meet your business goals. For example if a work order is 2 hours away, then round trip you have 4 hours of driving that may not be included in the payment terms. So if the example work order has a 1 hour max pay then actually you are working 5 hours (1hr for work and 4hr for driving) but only getting paid for 1 hour of time.
Tekitcon was born from technicians on the road and we understand the complexities of setting fair rates, which is why we incorporated a 'counter bid' feature to allow you to change the terms from hourly to flat and vice versa as well as a blended option.
In the same respect Buyers looking for workers can also counter your bids, we hope that this will allow technicians to be able to request additional funds while at the same time allowing buyers with hard budgets to be able to easily work out a rate agreeable by both parties.
When looking at an available Work Order there are 2 options available, the 'Apply' button which states you agree to the initial payments terms and would like to be considered for the work. Or a 'Counter Offer' which will allow you to send a request to perform the work at a different payment or schedule term.
After selecting the 'Counter Offer' option you will see a popup to define your requested updates.
You will then see your bid and any counter offers sent by the Buyer under the 'My Proposal' tab within the work order
*You are allowed to edit your bid or submit a new counter only 3 times. We wanted to be able to allow technicians and buyers an easy method to agree on a rate, but no body will enjoy a never ending bidding war.
